Privacy policy
For the truend Business app on the web, Windows and Android. Last updated 3 November 2026.
truend Business is billing and stock software for phone and electronics shops, made by truend technologies ("we"). This page explains what it stores, why, who can see it, and how to have it deleted.
Who this covers
- Shop owners and staff who sign in to truend Business.
- A shop's customers and the people it buys devices from. The shop enters their details; the shop decides what to record and is responsible for it.
What is stored
- Your sign-in: your mobile number. Signing in sends a one-time code by SMS.
- Your shop: its name, address, GSTIN, phone, UPI ID and logo, and the owner's name.
- Staff: the mobile number, name and access level of each person the owner adds.
- Bills: the items sold, prices, tax, payment method, and the customer's name, phone and address if the shop enters them.
- Buy-ins and exchanges: the seller's name and phone, the device, the price paid, and the seller's declaration that they own it.
- Stock: each device's IMEI or serial number, condition, warranty, cost and photos, and accessory quantities.
- Devices: a name and ID for each computer or phone that bills for the shop, so each counter keeps its own invoice numbers.
truend Business has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
Why it is stored
Only to run the shop's billing and stock: making and printing GST bills, keeping invoice numbers in order, tracking stock, and showing the day's totals. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- The shop: the owner, and staff according to the access the owner gives them. One shop can never see another shop's data.
- The shop's customers: only what is on their own bill, when the shop prints or shares it with them.
- Listings on truend: if the shop turns on "List on truend" for a device, its public details (model, price, condition, photos) appear on the truend marketplace. Cost price, IMEI and serial number are never published.
- Our providers: the data is stored with Google Cloud (Firebase), with the database in Mumbai, India. Google provides the sign-in, database and hosting, and handles data under its own terms.
- The law: we disclose data only where Indian law requires it.
Where it is kept
In the shop's account in the cloud, and as an offline copy on each device the shop signs in on, so billing keeps working without internet. Signing out clears that device's copy.
How long it is kept, and deleting it
- The owner can delete the shop's account in Settings → Alerts & data → Delete account. Every login loses access straight away.
- Invoices are kept after deletion, because GST law requires a business's tax records to be kept for a number of years.
- To have the rest of the shop's data erased (stock, customers, buy-ins, staff), email us from the shop's number or email after deleting the account, and we will erase it.
- A customer or seller who wants their details removed from a shop's records should ask the shop. We will help the shop do it, subject to the invoices it must keep.
- A shop on a paid plan deletes its account through us, by email.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Database rules allow each person to reach only the shop they belong to, with the access their role allows, and invoices cannot be edited once made.
Children
truend Business is for shops and their staff, not for children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
